What is Allergy?

Allergy is the overreaction of the immune system to one or more substance that is harmless for most people.
As an allergic person, the immune system treats the substance (called allergen) as a great invader and reacts inappropriately, and this starts causing various symptoms that can range from mild discomfort to problems that endanger the lives of people.
People who are allergic, are very sensitive to more than one thing.
There are frequent agents (allergens) among which are:

• Mold spores
• Pollen
• Insect bites
• Dust mites
• Some medications
• A certain foods
• hairy animal

Among the common allergic diseases have asthma, rhinitis, urticaria, conjunctivitis and eczema.


What generates allergy symptoms?

There are a variety of symptoms in terms of location, variety and severity. The allergic reaction even lead to death but it's usually mild (anaphylactic shock).

The most common symptoms are:
sneezing
Nasal congestion
Itchy throat and nose
Dry cough
Difficulty in breathing system
Tearing and redness of the eyes (conjunctivitis)
Skin rash (hives)
Swelling

How can it be treated?

there is no real cure for allergies, but its symptoms can be relieved. How to control these allergies is aparatarnos or avoid exposure to allergens.
Some drugs that may be used to treat allergies:

ANTIHISTAMINES

Capsules and pills
eyedrops
Injection
Liquid
nasal spray

CORTICOSTEROIDS

Other anti-inflammatory drugs:

Creams and ointments for skin
eyedrops
nasal spray
lung inhalers
For severe allergic symptoms you may be given injections or pills Corticosteroids for short periods.
